The Gherkin plays a small, but significant role in Thor: The Dark World, as it is another building that Thor and Malekith crash into after exiting a portal.

The Gherkin, also known by it’s given name, 30 St Mary Axe, is located a short walk away from Aldgate Underground Station. For Harry Potter fans I recommend teaming it with a visit to the close by Leadenhall Market.
