Location Visit: Crocker’s Folly, as seen in Captain America: The First Avenger

Crocker’s Folly was used as filming location in Captain America: The First Avenger. It is the pub where Steve, Bucky and the Howling Commandos have drinks. While the pub is now a Lebanese restaurant, there is also a public bar area for those who just want to have a drink. I attended on a Saturday afternoon, and found it most pleasant.

The public bar side of Crocker’s Folly is where Steve is first seen in the pub. He get’s served at the bar, and walks past the Howling Commandos, and into the other side where he meets Bucky.

As with most filming locations, there was considerable set dressing, but it is still very recognisable due to the columns, the dark wood, and the unique shape of the windows, which is also copied into the doors and panels above the bar.

As Steve and Bucky talk, Peggy arrives through the double doors, which are still instantly recognisable.

Later in the film we get a better view of the other room, which is currently the restaurant section

The film is also mentioned on this heritage sheet, which is attached to one of the columns.

Location
The Crocker’s Folly is located a short walk from Warwick Avenue underground station, and it is also quite close to Regent’s Park, which is well worth a visit.
