Blythe House is actually a store and archive used by the Victoria and Albert, Science and British Museums. Marvel fans will probably recognise it as the police station in Thor: The Dark World that Darcy and Ian liberate Selvig from

Travel
This filming location is actually quite hard to get to. Hammersmith is the closest Underground station, and then it is a good 15 minutes walk, and it is almost a mile away from the station. Thankfully there is a small park called Brook Green with plentiful benches at the halfway point, so there is a place to rest along your way

It’s been a few years since the movie debuted, but watching it this morning something familiar caught me. My family and I have been to the Blythe House! I went there two or so years ago (with appointment in hand) to watch a play on video. I recognized the building in the movie from its distinctive brick color pattern and tall gate surrounding it.

How marvelous! It was a beautiful building, but sadly I was not allowed to visit beyond the main gate

Exactly. With that location, they wouldn’t even let my family in (which we knew beforehand). I had to sign up for an account online (to get a library card for V&A once I got in the building) and had to have an appointment, otherwise there was no way I was getting through those gates. (I was there to watch a recorded play called Design for Living with Tom Burke and Andrew Scott – it was very funny.)
